Canyon "Fairy Tale"
Skazka Canyon is a small gorge on the southern shore of Issyk-Kul, famous for its red clay rocks. The canyon is located about 120 kilometers from Balykchy, near the village of Tosor.
"Skazka" is a very visited place among tourists. The reason for this is the easy accessibility of the canyon and its stunning landscapes and contrasts. Soil erosion, which has been going on for thousands of years, has done its job: various bizarre figures of stone and clay rise in the canyon. Canyon "Fairy Tale" is composed of multi-colored clays, minerals and rocks, which adds to the picturesqueness of this place.
Some of the natural sculptures in the canyon have their own names. The most recognizable is the "Chinese Wall", which is very reminiscent of the famous architectural monument of China. It is worth adding that in winter there is practically no snow here, and therefore you can see the Fairy Tale in all its glory at any time of the year. The canyon is located very close to the road and the shore of the lake, and therefore it is a great option for a relaxing or picnic location.
